I had to edit the last post. Ever draw something and think its great, then come back to it not even five minutes later and want to burn the thing? I was so satisfied but after a later review all the problems with it just hit me in the face... just bad from head to toe. I thought about making a post to analyze where i went wrong and what would make it better but i'd rather forget about it for now. The problem was obviously lack of thought.
Going to do dailies for a while, should be good exercise... :D

"Going to do dailies for a while"
expecially if someone look at it. only an "this like me" or "this not like me" is helpful. my old art-school theacher says:"draw and then put your drawing into a closet and don't watch it for one year". i dont know if this is a good advice but....
sorry for the long comment.
so many wonderful new drawings!! love your characters, so expressive and lively!!
Hi there, I am very, very impressed with your work.
Lots of talent here attention to detail, and all the other good things that make good artists.
Cheers,
Milenko
Nice work. Whatever happened to dancing space girl, loved that.............and the dancing feet.
Yes, I have that problem quite often and it's enough to drive one insane. I'll finish a piece, think it's great, look at it a few hours later and think it's crap. oye veigh...
I guess that's what keeps the artist on his or her toes? yes?
Great work...love your characters.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,
Ana
I love the nameless characters below. So cool.
Good to see you posting more of your art work.
Really nice attitudes, your caracters are great. I like the one below with the guitar too :D
yeah, updates finally. Great stuff.
Love your blog, cool style, and strong draftsmanshp!
Your last posts are awesome, MT. I´ve been wanting to comment for some time now, but I never find the moment. I really love the shapes, designs and attitude you have going on your drawings, really impressive.
and you can check out more stuff from the author of the wolf/sword image here http://dancingplatypuss.blogspot.com/
just a few days ago he saw some of your drawings on my computer while I was surfing at work and he REALLY liked what he saw. And then you comment on my blo the next. what a coincidence and what a long comment Ive just written.
keep posting!
Hey Mike,
This is a lovely gesture. I seem to be constantly debating whether to pull old/poor drawings or leave them up as a reminder of the progress I need to make. Tough call. Great post
Thanks much everyone!
That's good advice to keep things fresh and identify progress, Flaviano. I'm going down the road of draw everyday to get better. I know i stopped drawing daily for a while, its just really really bad to settle for something when you know you can do better.
I don't think there's anything wrong with leaving up old drawings when you've gotten better, that's one thing i really enjoy seeing from my fav artists. What's off to me is putting up new drawings that are half hearted efforts. When i look at my own work, even if its a quick sloppy sketch, i'd like to be able to say "yah this is where i am right now". Hope that makes sense...
Knife, thanks, i'll get back to her this week then :)
TY for the link German, funny coincidence, he does nice work.
